Grizzly Digs Up Black Bear Den and Attacks the Sow and Cubs Inside [VIDEO]

BrysquickhitsWe cull the internet in search of the latest outdoors-related tidbits, YouTube clips, photos, memes, you name it. Stuff you HAVEN’T seen before, hopefully. If it’s amusing, entertaining, educational or astonishing, you’ll find it here. Check back every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and see what’s new.

We’ve got a remarkable video for you today, but be warned: it’s not for the faint of heart.

Logan Hunter and his dad were out hunting near Whitecourt, Alberta, when they spotted a grizzly bear. They moved in to get a closer look——and noticed that the grizzly had started digging.

Logan started recording, and he and his dad began to puzzle out what the big bear was looking for.

Turns out it the grizzly was digging the roof off a bear den that had a black bear sow and three cubs cornered inside.

The sow attempts to fight off the grizzly, to no avail.

I would encourage you to watch the whole video, but if you want to skip to the action, go to about 5:15 and watch from there.

But be warned…it gets pretty rough.

WARNING: Plenty of NSFW language.

It’s a good reminder that nature is neither kind nor fair.

At 5:53, one of the cubs makes a break for it, and the grizzly gives chase. Judging by the horrifying screams a few seconds later, the little guy didn’t get too far.

Thankfully, he gave his mom and two other cubs a chance to escape.

“Craziest thing to watch from less the ten yards away sitting in the truck,” Logan wrote in the video description.

No kidding.
