Hunter Touches Buck During Rut with Arrow [VIDEO]

BrysquickhitsWe cull the internet in search of the latest outdoors-related tidbits, YouTube clips, photos, memes, you name it. Stuff you HAVEN’T seen before, hopefully. If it’s amusing, entertaining, educational or astonishing, you’ll find it here. Check back every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and see what’s new.

What on earth is wrong with this buck?

Kyle of Wired Outdoors TV was on the way to his stand on the last day of Pennsylvania archery season when he came across a buck behaving very strangely.

I can’t stress enough that this is a fair-chase buck. Not hand-fed, not from a farm.

Kyle was wary——bucks are dangerous after all——and decided to poke it a few times with a broadhead to get him to move.

No reaction.

Some of the comments suspect Chronic Wasting Disease, but I don’t think it’s that. The deer looks pretty healthy.

As the deer approaches, you can see a pretty nasty bump on the left side of his head. Looks like the swelling might be obstructing his left eye, too. Doesn’t help that he’s rutting.

Kyle suspects that the buck was fighting and got poked by a tine. That’s a bad spot for an infected wound.

“He definitely has wires crossed,” Kyle says.

The buck is definitely off, and it’s a relied when it runs off after a moment of clarity. Weird stuff!
