Equipment Used:
Location: Southeast Nebraska
Pictured (left to right): Steven Patzel
Trophy Size: 6 pounds, 4 ounces
Trophy Species: Largemouth Bass
Story: Turkey season opening day brought thunderstorms and lightning that chased myself and a buddy from our blind in southeast Nebraska. A few hour later, the rain slowed to drizzle so we decided to try our luck at the farm pond. The fish were biting steadily on soft plastics when this 6 lb 4 oz bass took my new rod and reel for a test ride.

Steven, How big was the pond? That is an impressive catch for a “farm pond”. I like combi-trips, be they overlapping seasons for hunting or access to fishing while on a hunting trip. Sounds like you hit the jackpot there!
