Canadian Asks Bears to Leave in a Very Polite Tone [VIDEO]

BrysquickhitsWe cull the internet in search of the latest outdoors-related tidbits, YouTube clips, photos, memes, you name it. Stuff you HAVEN’T seen before, hopefully. If it’s amusing, entertaining, educational or astonishing, you’ll find it here. Check back every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and see what’s new.

Today’s video is fundamentally Canadian in the best way possible.

Jordan Cote of Sooke, British Columbia, was about to leave for work when a family of black bears wandered into his backyard.

The mama bear and her two cubs showed no signs of leaving, so Jordan did what any good Canadian would do. He politely asked them to leave.

“I need you guys to go, ‘kay?” he said (in a much nicer tone than I would use).

Much to his surprise, they actually left.

In true northerner fashion, he thanks them for leaving and gives them a polite send-off. “Hope you enjoyed my yard. Have a good day. Bye now.”

If you listen closely, you can hear the mama bear say “sorry” (read: “soary”) on her way out.

Kidding aside, we poke fun at our neighbors to the north, but their reputation for politeness is well-earned.
