Fox and Eagle Fight in Mid-Air for Rabbit [VIDEO]

Life is rough in the middle of the food chain.

This fox did the hard work of catching a rabbit…only to have it ripped from his paws by a crafty bald eagle.

Actually, the eagle doesn’t discriminate, and grabs both the rabbit AND the fox——because why not? Two good meals for the price of one.

The footage was taken by Zachary Hartje at American Camp on San Juan Island, Washington, and should give you a good idea of just how fast eagles are.

So there you have it.

The fox did manage to free itself——though to what end, we’ll never know. It looked like the eagle grabbed the poor critter by the head, so it could be running on pure adrenaline. And contrary to what it says at the end of the video, the eagle DID keep hold of the rabbit.
