Garmin GPS 12XL Navigation System

Easy to use, the Garmin GPS 12XL Navigation System will take you off the beaten path, then get you back again. Global positioning units have come a long way in the past decade, and this unit maintains that trend. This baby will tell you within 49 feet of where you are anywhere on planet Earth!

Within the compact, 9.5-ounce unit, you can store up to 500 waypoints. Those can be anything — treestands, geographical markers, or fishing hotspots. Mark the location, then with a few simple commands, the Garmin GPS 12XL will draw a direct line back on its 2.2-inch by 1.5-inch high-contrast, luminescent backlit display. Once you master waypoints, punch in up to 20 reversible routes of up to 30 waypoints each.

Satellite acquisition time is one area where GPS units really have improved, and the Garmin 12XL delivers here. Warm, expect it to lock in within 15 seconds. Cold you’ll have to wait a whole additional 30 seconds. It then continuously updates via its 12-channel receiver by locking into up to 12 GPS satellites orbiting the Earth for amazing accuracy.

Weather-wise, it performs in temperatures from 5 degrees to 158 degrees Fahrenheit. The whole thing measures a mere 6.5 inches by 2 inches, small enough to slip into that cell-phone pocket on your bag. Not just for outdoors, the Garmin 12XL includes a City Point database for cruising on the road.

Other features include its exclusive TracBack automatic track log navigation with 1,024 track log points, an ultrasonically welded case, and memory backup with an internal lithium battery. Four AA batteries provide up to 24 hours of continuous usage. Combined with a map and compass, the Garmin GPS 12XL Navigation System provides rock solid orienteering anywhere on earth!
