A kayak trip in Squamish, British Columbia took a dangerous turn last week when a young grizzly bear charged straight at a kayaker.
The kayaker was actually one of the guides for this expedition. He was waiting for the rest of the kayaks to catch up to him when the charge occurred.
The scariest part? The guide almost didn’t see the bear coming.
Thankfully, the group of kayakers behind him yelled and screamed to get his attention. They got him to turn around just in time, and we was able to paddle away.
Check it out:
Turns out the grizzly may not have been charging at the guide. The kayakers told news teams that the young bruin might have been protecting his elk carcass on the other side of the river.
Either way, nobody was hurt, which is good.
