Tales from the Field: First Buck!

Your kid’s priceless reaction after dropping his first buck. An epic pole-bender with the lunker of a lifetime. Awesome things happen in the Great Outdoors — and this is your place to Share The Thrill!

This week we’re featuring a story submitted by Paul W. of Indiana. His photo is featured on the front cover of our August catalog!

“On November 10, 2012, my son Will harvested his very first buck. With time winding down and roughly 30 minutes of legal shooting light left, Will looked up at me and told me there were four does and a nice buck that just entered the field to our left. Eventually, the does led the 4 1/2-year-old buck in front of our stand and provided Will with a nice 30-yard broadside shot. Will kept his composure and made a well-placed shot that led to a quick recovery. I simply treasure each and every moment I get to spend with my children in God’s creation. I feel blessed to make these memories that will last a lifetime.”
