Don’t you just hate it when you’re fishing for catfish but hook a dinosaur instead?

The guys from the Fish Whisperer YouTube channel went to Buffalo Bayou, a slow-moving river in Texas, in search of big cats.

They were using live bluegills, and caught a little one right away, according to the video’s description. After moving spots, he hooked something.

“What the heck? What do I have?” he wondered.

“I think it’s a big catfish!”

They got something big alright.

Turned out to be a seven-foot gator. Unbelievable.

The two fishermen make the wise decision to not land the gator. Since they were using a small circle hook, the gator would probably be fine.

Crazy stuff.
