Story: My buddy had just caught a 6.5 salmon and spent 10 minutes (although it seemed much longer) to bring it in and returned it back to grow. The next hit was mine. My salmon ran so fast to the boat that I had to reel in on my high ratio reel the fastest I ever had to with any type of fish. It then rolled in front of us and we all gasped at such a specimen. We netted it with ease, as it seemed to have a death wish. After a few measurements and pictures it too went back to grow. I had a reproduction made from Carlson’s Taxidermy in Thorndike Maine and it was remarkable. I now have my 9.8 lb. salmon mounted on a 41″ pedestal mount which I placed in a 48″ aquarium to keep the dust off…. It’s a true beauty
