Story: I’ve hunted this deer for two years. The first time I saw him was on my trail camera, but I never saw him again that bow season. In the last week of that season, he jumped my driveway chasing a doe and that was the last time I saw him that year. The next year, this past season, I put out my camera and took a few pictures early, but I didn’t see anything but does. I hunted the same spot right up until the last day. That morning it was about 20 degrees outside with no wind blowing. I was considering not even going out, but I thought what the heck, it’s the last day, why not? It started getting daylight around 6:45 a.m. I was set up at the upper end of the cornfield. I saw a pretty 6-pointer, but he was too young to shoot so I let him walk. Around 7 a.m., I noticed something to my right coming across the field. I put my gun up to see what it was, and it was him -- the "LUCK BUCK" I had been hunting for two years! It all happened so fast I had to yell to get him to stop. He stopped dead in his tracks, I fired my Stevens .270 and he staggered to the edge of the field. I and a friend gave him about two hours and then we started tracking him. He ran about 100 yards from where I shot him. What a great way to end the 2014-2015 season!
