When Fish Fly [VIDEO]

BrysquickhitsWe cull the internet in search of the latest outdoors-related tidbits, YouTube clips, photos, memes, you name it. Stuff you HAVEN’T seen before, hopefully. If it’s amusing, entertaining, educational or astonishing, you’ll find it here. Check back every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and see what’s new.

That’s the sound the wahoo — or Acanthocybium solandri — probably makes when it flies through the air.

The wahoo is a saltwater gamefish found worldwide in tropical and subtropical seas. It’s popular among sports fishermen because it tastes amazing and, as you’ll see in the video, it’s a lot of fun to catch.

They reach good size, stay close to land, and fight like crazy on light to medium tackle. Most of the fun is on the first run — they can really move, and when they go airborne, they can really get up their.

Watching the fish fly is a real treat. While I do love it here, landlocked Minnesota isn’t the place for gamefish.
