You know the old saying: “There’s always a bigger fish.”
And in the case of today’s video, the ‘bigger fish’ just happened to be looking for an easy meal.
These guys were on a guided fishing trip in North Carolina when one of them hooks a crappie.
Light resistance gives way to heavy resistance—the pole is essentially bent in half at one point—as the anglers slowly figure out that they might be dealing with something bigger.
“I think ‘at’s a big old catfish, brother,” the guide says. Well, it wasn’t a catfish.
As soon as the fish surfaces, they figure out that a bass inhaled the original crappie—likely when the smaller fish was hung up on a limb.
Of course, the fisherman was ecstatic to land the pair of fish—and even happier to have it on film.
Has anything like this ever happened to you? We’d love to hear about it!
